Trafflicom
Terms of Service
These terms govern the use of trafflicom.com, operated by Trafflicom, Hatanpään valtatie 34, 33100 Tampere, Finland. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. The terms apply to all visitors, whether you read the guides, submit a question, or both.
What these terms cover
This page explains the rules for reading the guides on this site, for sending us a question, and for quoting or linking to our material. It also sets out what Trafflicom does and does not do for you, and which law applies to this agreement.
If you are looking for the rules that apply to your own vehicle rather than the rules for using this website, start from the registration guide and the traffic rules chapters.
Purpose of the site
Trafflicom publishes information and explanatory content about Finnish vehicle registration, traffic rules, and compliance obligations. The site is an information resource. It does not provide legal advice, official decisions, registration services, inspection services, or insurance brokerage, and no content on the site should be relied on as a substitute for the applicable official rules or the register entry for a specific vehicle.
In practice this means we describe how procedures usually work, which documents tend to be requested, and where each step happens. We do not sit between you and Traficom, the police, an inspection station, or an insurer, and we cannot tell you that a particular vehicle will be accepted or registered before the authority handling your case reviews it.
What this site is
A plain-language guide to Finnish registration steps, traffic rules, and compliance duties, written for drivers and vehicle owners who want to understand the process before they start it.
What this site is not
Not advice for your individual case, not a filing channel, and not a replacement for the decision, certificate, or register entry issued for your vehicle by the responsible authority.
No professional relationship
Using this site, reading a guide, or sending a question through the contact form does not create a client, advisory, or agency relationship. We do not act on your behalf before any authority and cannot file notifications, change register entries, issue certificates, or pay fees for you. Any decision you make based on the content is your own responsibility, and you should confirm requirements with the relevant official source.
A question sent through the contact form is read as a question about the process in general. We can point you to the step that applies and explain what is usually asked for, but the answer does not bind any authority and does not stand in for a decision in your case.
Where to go instead
- A filing, a register change, or a certificate: the authority handling your case issues it, not this site.
- A question about the rules as they apply to you: confirm the current requirement with the official source before you act.
- A question about these terms: contact us and we will answer it in writing.
Accuracy and changes
We aim to describe Finnish vehicle registration and traffic rules accurately and to update the guides when published sources change. Rules, fees, and service channels are subject to change by the authorities, and summaries on this site may not reflect the latest version. We do not warrant that every page is complete, current, or free of error, and content may be changed or removed without notice.
Sources
Guides are written from published official material and public service descriptions. When a source is updated, the guide it supports is reviewed and rewritten where the change affects what a reader has to do.
Fees and channels
Prices, payment routes, and service points change more often than the rules themselves. Treat any amount mentioned in a guide as an example of how a fee is structured, and confirm the current figure at the point where you pay it.
Corrections
If a page on this site contradicts an official source, the official source decides. Tell us about the page and we will review it; we may correct, rewrite, or remove the page at any time without prior notice.
Your own check
Before you book an inspection, pay a fee, or sign a transfer document, confirm the requirement, the amount, and the channel with the authority or the service provider handling your case.
Acceptable use
Short version: read what you need, do not break the site, and make sure the details you send us are true.
You agree to use the site for lawful purposes and not to attempt to disrupt it, gain unauthorized access to its systems, submit content that is unlawful or misleading, or use automated means to extract content at a volume that affects other visitors. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit through the contact form.
Please do
- Read and quote the guides with a link back to the page you used.
- Send one clear question with the vehicle details that matter to it.
- Tell us if a page has gone out of date or contradicts an official source.
Please don't
- Submit a question in someone else's name without their knowledge.
- Scrape the guides at a rate that slows the site for other readers.
- Copy whole chapters into another publication or a paid product.
Intellectual property
The text and structure of this site are the property of Trafflicom unless otherwise stated. You may read, quote briefly with attribution, and link to the pages. You may not reproduce substantial portions of the content, republish it as your own, or use it commercially without written permission. Names of authorities, registers, and services mentioned in the guides belong to their respective owners.
If you write about Finnish registration or traffic rules and want to reference a chapter, link to that page rather than copying it. A short quotation with a visible link to the source page is fine and does not need a separate request.
Quoting a guide
Keep the quotation short, name Trafflicom as the source, and link to the page you took it from. For anything longer than a paragraph, or for any commercial reuse, ask us in writing first.

Liability
The site is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Trafflicom is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or reliance on, the content of this site.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Finnish law, including liability for intent or gross negligence. This means the limits above apply to the ordinary risks of using an information site, and not to situations where the law does not allow a limit at all.
If you rely on a summary here and it turns out to be out of date, the practical remedy is with the official source: the decision, fee, or entry that applies to your vehicle is the one issued by the authority handling it. Tell us about the page so we can correct it.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Questions about the terms can be sent through the contact page or by phone at +358 3 3142 5590, or by post to Hatanpään valtatie 34, 33100 Tampere, Finland.
If one part of these terms turns out not to apply, the rest stays in force. If we change the terms, the revised version is published on this page and applies from the date it appears here.

Questions readers send about these terms
Does asking a question make Trafflicom my adviser? +
No. Reading the guides or sending a question does not create a client or advisory relationship. We can explain how a procedure generally works and what is usually asked for, but the decision on your case stays with the authority handling it.
Can I copy a chapter of the registration guide? +
A short quotation with attribution and a link to the page is fine. Republishing a whole chapter, or using the text in a commercial product, needs written permission from us first.
A guide looks out of date — what should I do? +
Tell us which page and what changed. Check the official source for the current requirement in the meantime, and treat the official source as the one that applies to your vehicle.
Can these terms change after I have read them? +
Yes. The revised version is published on this page and applies from the date it appears. Rules, fees, and service channels change too, so guides are reviewed when their source material changes.
Still have a question about these terms?
Send it through the contact page or call us during opening hours. If your question is about registration steps or traffic rules rather than the terms, the guides are usually the faster route.
